Good morning!
Help me congratulate the following individuals for their hard work in preparing for the District 5 FFA Leadership Contest that was held on Friday at Carroll High School. Approximately 13 schools were in attendance. For those who are newer to understanding FFA contests, these ones specifically are wonderful for increasing speaking, interviewing, and leadership skills. It has been about 30 years since Northwestern has been represented at these contests and this year alone we had 16 participants. Last year we had 2 incredible students that competed right before quarantine.
It has been incredible to see the interests of these students come to life! If you have them in class, please congratulate them and ask them about their project. We had some really great topics and learned a lot on how to keep improving for next year.

We also had students who competed in the Section 2 Parliamentary Procedure Competition back in February and I cannot remember if I recognized those kiddos. They definitely deserve the recognition, having placed 1st within our district and 5th within our section. Last year was our first year and they have improved tremendously! This contest allows students to learn how to properly run a meeting following "Roberts Rules of Order".
