 DATES AND TIMES FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC EVENTS MAY BE FOUND AT www.gonwtigers.com

 The high school’s National Honor Society will be offering after-school tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-3:30 in the high school Learning Commons beginning Tuesday, September 11.  Students must arrive before 3:00 in order to take advantage of this free help.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK RESULTS from Tuesday AND Wednesday

TUESDAY - The middle school track team competed well against Lewis Cass and Eastern Tuesday night. The girls’ team came in 1st place, and the boys’ team came in 2nd place. Great job Tigers!

WEDNESDAY - The boys and girls track teams both got 2nd place last night at the meet with Western and Peru. Great Job, Tigers! Good Luck on Saturday at the Southwood Invitation!

You may have heard that the Student Council has partnered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to be a part of their Hero Squad and we want you to be a Hero Squad Member too! 

You should have or soon will be, getting a collection box to start collecting money for your HR's LLS competition. Each HR has a larger box to collect money in as well. Money collections starts Monday and the HR that collects the most money wins an Olive Garden Lunch one day in May! If you bring your collection box with $5 or more, you will also get a Hero Squad ring! 

You will also get a flyer about setting up an online collection site. Make sure that the flyer goes home and you work with your parents to get this set up if you are interested. There is a prize for just setting up a page and then other prizes for having people donate using your page. 

Finally, this week is going to be our LLS spirit week: 

TODAY we will be “Putting A Cap On Cancer!” Pay $1 and wear a hat during the school.  

Tuesday: “We Won’t Rest Until There’s A Cure” Bring in $1 and wear your pajamas to school (school dress code applies)

High School cheerleading tryouts for the 2019-2020 season will be on Saturday, May 4th

There will be a parent/participant meeting on Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:30 in the High School Gym.  This meeting should only take about a half hour and you will be given information about the tryouts and the upcoming season. 

 

There will be two cheer clinics before the tryouts on May 2nd & 3rd from 6:30-8:00.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING

There will be NO after-school tutoring tomorrow, March 19th, in the high school library.

 

8TH GRADE CHOIR

The 8th Grade Choir competed at contest this past Saturday and earned 3 Gold Ratings.  This is the first time in Northwestern MIddle School history that the 8th Grade choir has entered Group 2 category and earned Gold.  Congratulations 8th Grade Choir. 

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL FCA

Our next FCA meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19. Join us for donuts and milk! 

 

SPRING BREAK TRIPS

REMINDER: Your Family Trip Form must be approved and returned to the office with all teacher signatures 3 days before YOU will be gone or your absence will be unexcused. 

TOMORROW is the last possible day to turn in a COMPLETED Family Trip Form. 

 

HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADER CALL OUTS (8th grade girls)

High School cheerleading tryouts for the 2019-2020 season will be on May 4th.  There will be a parent/participant meeting on April 3rd at 6:30 in the High School Gym. 

This meeting should only take about a half hour and you will be given information about the tryouts and the upcoming season. 

There will be two cheer clinics before the tryouts on May 2nd & 3rd from 6:30-8:00.
